Ascension Seton Northwest Hospital is one of only a small percentage of hospitals to achieve Magnet® designation for a third time. She was promoted to director of surgical services in 2009, and has served as senior director of nursing for the site since 2011. In 2007, Margaret moved to Austin, Texas and joined Ascension Seton Northwest Hospital as clinical manager of surgical services. She was recruited to manage maternity services in the community hospital where she was working. Margaret worked in surgery for a number of years, earning her certification in 2001 and heading back to school to complete her BSN in 2005. After working with patients in a surgical intensive care unit, it seemed natural to transition to surgery. Senior Director of Nursing, Ascension Seton Northwest Hospitalīutler began her nursing career with an intensive care internship at The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Margaret Butler, MBA, BSN, RN, NEA-BC, CNOR Brown gained accreditation for the hospital as the State of Arizona’s only Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and initiated development of the Children’s Neurosciences Institute. Before returning to Austin, she developed the Trauma Service Line at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. While there, Brown led the development and implementation of the State of Texas’ first Level I Pediatric Trauma Center as accredited by the American College of Surgeons. She served 17 years at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas in various staff and leadership roles. Brown received her BSN from The University of Texas at Austin. She directed the opening of a new patient care tower and the expansion of pediatric specialty services to rural sites in central Texas.
